A great beef goulash recipe to try !
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 tbsp. shortening
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 tbsp. minced onion
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste OR 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 3 c. water
- 3/4 c. uncooked rice (not Minute Rice)
- 4 c. raw cabbage, chopped
Brown beef in hot shortening in large pan. Add garlic powder and minced onion. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add tomato paste or sauce, salt and pepper. Mix well. Stir in water and rice. Bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes. Add cabbage. Cook for 10 minutes or until cabbage is tender. The beef goulash recipe is ready to serves 8.
