BEEF RICE CABBAGE GOULASH RECIPES

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1 tbsp. shortening
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp. minced onion
  • 6 oz. can tomato paste
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 3 c. water
  • 3/4 c. raw rice
  • 4 c. shredded cabbage

INSTRUCTIONS
Brown meat in hot shortening in large pan, stirring. Add garlic and onion. Cook for 5 minutes stirring frequently. Add tomato paste, salt and pepper; blend. Stir in water and rice. Bring to a boil; lower heat and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes. Add cabbage; cook for 10 minutes or until cabbage is tender. The beef goulash recipe is ready to serve 8 persons...nice one ! SPICY BEEF GOULASH RECIPE

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 c. thinly sliced onions
  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • 1 1/2 to 2 lb. beef cubes
  • 1 tbsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 qt. boiling water
  • 8 oz. wide egg noodles (6 to 6 1/2 c.)
  • 2 tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 tbsp. poppy seed

INSTRUCTIONS
In large pan or Dutch oven, saute onions in 3 tablespoons butter for a few minutes. Set onions aside. Add beef, paprika, 1 teaspoon salt and pepper; brown lightly. Add 4 cups water. Simmer covered about 2 hours or until meat is tender, stirring occasionally, 7-9 minutes, until tender. Drain in colander.
Toss noodles with melted butter and poppy seed. Serve goulash over noodles. 4-6 servings.

INGREDIENTS
  • 6 sm. onions
  • 2 tbsp. paprika
  • 2 lb. stew beef
  • 2 sm. peppers, chopped
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Oil
  • 2 tbsp. sour cream (optional)
  • Salt
  • Pepper

INSTRUCTIONS
Slowly cook 6 small onions in oil until soft. Add paprika to onions. Add meat and cook until it comes to a boil, lower to a simmer. Add peppers, can of chopped stewed tomatoes, 2 cloves garlic, salt, and pepper.

Cook slowly for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until meat is tender. Keep lid on while cooking! If sour cream is added, mix with goulash juice and then add to pot. The beef goulash recipe is ready to serve....great ! Enjoy the feast !

  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste OR 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 3 c. water
  • 3/4 c. uncooked rice (not Minute Rice)
  • 4 c. raw cabbage, chopped

INSTRUCTIONS
Brown beef in hot shortening in large pan. Add garlic powder and minced onion. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add tomato paste or sauce, salt and pepper. Mix well. Stir in water and rice. Bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes. Add cabbage. Cook for 10 minutes or until cabbage is tender. The beef goulash recipe is ready to serves 8.

BEEF-PORK GOULASH RECIPE

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 med. onion
  • 1 lb. beef
  • 1 lb. pork
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 1/2 c. or 1 lb. 13 oz. can sauerkraut
  • 3/4 tsp. dill seeds
  • 8 juniper berries
  • 8 peppercorns
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. caraway seeds
  • 1/2 pt. sour cream

INSTRUCTIONS
Chop onion fine, then cut meat into inch cubes. Next, melt butter in a Dutch oven over low heat, add the chopped onions and fry until golden brown. Add meat, paprika and salt; brown meat lightly on all sides. Now add sauerkraut, dill seeds, juniper berries, peppercorns and caraway seeds. Add about 3/4 cup water, cover tightly and cook very gently for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

If goulash looks dry, add a little more water. When meat is tender, add sour cream at once and allow it to heat thoroughly only. The beef goulash recipe is ready to serves 6 persons....nice one ! Enjoy it !

HUNGARIAN BEEF GOULASH

INGREDIENTS
  • 1/4 c. vegetable oil
  • 10 oz. finely cut onions
  • 1/2 bell pepper, deseeded & crushed
  • 4 lg. cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1 lb. beef chuck (stew meat, or shank meat)
  • 2 tbsp. Hungarian paprika (don't use Spanish)
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed Italian pepper or cayenne
  • 1/2 tsp. caraway seeds
  • 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes, crushed by hand
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Salt to taste

INSTRUCTIONS
For those who can remember, a grating of lemon rind to taste for a finishing touch.

1. Heat the oil in a heavy bottom saucepan or casserole. Add the onions and the bell pepper, cover and sweat onions until translucent, stirring occasionally, but do not brown. Add the garlic and saute until it imparts its aroma.

2. Add the meat, stir together and season with salt. Cover and let sweat gently for several minutes. When meat takes on a cooked appearance, add paprika, caraway seeds, the pepper and the bay leaves, stir all together, cover and let cook on a low fire for 10 to 15 minutes until meat has picked up the flavor of the seasonings.

3. Add the tomatoes, stir and cover and return to a simmer. Adjust fire so the goulash simmers very gently and let cook, stirring occasionally until meat is tender. While the goulash is cooking,
taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. Meat should be tender in about one hour.

4. When meat is tender, remove bay leaves and taste once more. Skim any grease that may have surfaced. Keep warm.The beef goulash recipe is ready to serves 4-5 great persons. Nice taste ! Enjoy the feasts !

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 lbs beef chuck, cubed
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups beef or chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp pepper and 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tsp red vinegar
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 pkg egg noodles

INSTRUCTIONS
In a 4 quart pot, saute onions in oil for about 3 minutes or until they get soft. Meanwhile, dredge meat in flour.Sauté meat until brown then add remaining ingredients. Cover pot and simmer or low flame and cook for 90 minutes. Serve over cooked noodles. The beef goulash recipe is ready to serve. Great taste ! Nice...
